Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial and Gurudwara

Sikh Memorial and Gurudwara From Sikh Era
Description

Surrounded by modern brick and concrete buildings of Mehrauli, the Gurudwara of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur stands out in pristine, white marble. Its pristine hewn edges and engraved Sikh iconography project a soft reflection of the sun's rays.

Inside is the memorial of Baba Bahadur, decorated in bold colors and fine ornamentation. He's famous for his rebellion against the Mughals and helping form the first independent Sikh state, a foundation for the Indian state of Punjab. Later captured, Bahadur refused to renounce his faith and was therefore killed.

Today, Sikhs come to Mehrauli to remembered this important figure in their history and join together in worship.
